Raja Purohit- A name to reckon with in the field of Wildlife Photographers in India. Born in Pune (Maharashtra), his love for photography started since his early days. Initially armed with a simple camera and lens in hand, he gradually invested in a professional Minolta camera after a prolonged interest.
Undoubtedly, the man behind the camera is extremely important as well. Realizing this he decided to train himself with the finer nuances and techniques of camera handling with a trial and error method. His efforts paid off and he soon became India's sought after photographer.
With time Raja started using Nikon Professional Lens to capture the beauty of the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in and out of Maharashtra. He initially started with Kanha, a haven for tigers and gradually added national parks like Bandhavgad, Corbett, Namdapha, Tadoba, Koyna, Nagzira, Rehekuri, Supe, Nannaj, Dajipur, Bharatpur and many more to his kitty. His pictorial treasure includes rare photos of various aspects of nature and wildlife.
Till date many of his photographs have been exhibited in various wildlife exhibitions in Maharashtra State. Even the Forest Department Authorities have commendable respect and high regards for this amazing personality. Many of his pictures have been used in Govt Brochures, Stickers, Hoardings and booklets. Apart from Govt authorities, his photographs have also been published in other books like IBA, Mammals of Maharashtra, Corporate Calendars, and Posters etc.
Apart from wildlife Photography this multi faceted personality of many talents has a passion for riding bikes, breeding racing pigeons and has a worth seeing treasure of exotic fishes in his home aquarium.
